Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman

On March 19, 2013 the government appointed Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman of the Department of Marketing, Dhaka University as the Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University (JnU). The President made the appointment for a four- year term as per the Jagannath University (revised) Act-2012 under section 10 (1), the source said. The Ministry of Education issued a gazette in this regard on March 19, 2013 with immediate effect. Professor Mizanur Rahman is a former Treasurer of the Dhaka University.

Dr. Hafiz G. A. Siddique

Dr. Siddiqi obtained his Ph.D from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK his MBA from Graduate School of Business, Indiana University, USA, his Master of Public and International Affairs (MPIA) from University of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania, USA and his M.A. (Economies) from University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dr. Hafiz G.A. Siddiqi was appointed as Depositor Director to the board of BRAC Bank Limited in 2008. Dr. Siddiqi is the vice chancellor of North South University. He is the president of the Hyderabad based Association of Management Development Institution in South Asia (AMDISA), A SAARC affiliated association of the top business schools of South Asia. He is the member of Steering Committee, Bangladesh Commission for UNESCO, founder Chairman of Institute of Management Consultants, Bangladesh Member and founder Chairman in the Board of Directors of MIDAS, Dr. Siddiqi worked as international consultant to many renowned organizations including the World Bank. Dr. Siddiqi has more than 40 years of experience as an educationist, researcher, international consultant and business executive.

Dr. Hafiz G. A. A. H. M. Moniruzzaman

A career diplomat AHM Moniruzzaman joined BCS (Foreign Affairs Cadre) in 1979. He graduated with first class from the University of Punjab in 1972 (appearing from London). He also obtained BSC (Economics) degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1975 and received his M.SC in International Relations from the University College London in 1976.

After finishing his study he return to Bangladesh, Moniruzzaman joined the University of Dhaka in 1977 as Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations He served there until February 1979. In 1979 he was appointed as Section Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently he was encadred in the Bangladesh Civil Service in the Foreign Affairs cadre when it was constituted in 1981. In course of his diplomatic career, Moniruzzaman worked in Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Calcutta, Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York and Embassies of Bangladesh in Kuwait and Paris. Before coming to Brussels, he was serving as the Secretary (Multilateral Economic Affairs) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. Moniruzzaman also headed the Economic Affairs Department of the General Secretariat of the OIC in Jeddah from 2000 to 2005.

He served as a delegation of Bangladesh in the UN Committee for Program and Coordination during 1985-89. He also attended numerous multilateral meetings held at the UN Headquarters in New York representing Bangladesh during 1984-87. He was in the Group of experts on Financial and Administrative Matters of the finance and Administrative Commission of the UNESCO Executive Board during the Group’s mandate period of 1996-97 and 1998-99.

He Led the Bangladesh delegation to the 23rd session of the Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs held in Jeddah in 2000. Also, he was a member of the Bangladesh delegation to the Third Extraordinary Summit of the OIC held in Makkah in 2005. Moreover, he served as a Member of the Bangladesh Delegation to SAARC and BIMSTEC meetings on several occasions.
